Batteries
We test before we replace, then fit a new battery on the spot if that is what the fault turns out to be. Old batteries go with us rather than being left with you.

A car that will not start in a shopping centre car park does not need a workshop, it needs someone with the right gear to turn up. Clarence Valley Tow Trucks provides roadside assistance in Grafton for flat batteries, flat tyres, empty tanks and keys locked inside, and we carry replacement batteries on board rather than sending you off to buy one. Electronic diagnostics let us read fault codes on the spot, which saves guessing at what a warning light actually means. Where the fault is beyond a roadside fix, general towing takes over, and crash damage is handled under accident towing.

Four problems account for most of what we see.

Your spare goes on and gets checked for pressure before you leave. Vehicles carrying no usable spare go on the tray instead.

Most vehicles can be opened without damage using the right tools. We check the vehicle first and tell you honestly if it is a risk.

Petrol or diesel gets brought out in enough quantity to reach a servo. Diesels sometimes need bleeding afterwards before they will fire.
Roadside repairs are worth doing when the fault is simple and the vehicle is safe to drive afterwards. Plenty are not. A car that has overheated badly, lost drive, developed a brake fault or thrown a code pointing at something internal is better on the tray than nursed home, because the short drive is usually what turns a repair into a replacement. We will tell you which situation you are in rather than attempting a fix that will not hold. If the vehicle does need to go, it can go straight to your mechanic, and we can leave it there securely if the workshop is closed at the time.

A healthy battery in a car that is driven regularly will hold charge for several weeks of standing. An older battery can go flat in days, and so can one in a vehicle with an accessory quietly drawing current.
Yes. Most vehicles can be opened using tools designed for the job, without harm to the lock barrel or the window seal.
Running dry can draw air into the fuel system, which stops the engine restarting until the lines are bled. Most modern diesels handle it without lasting harm as long as it is not repeated.
