Traffic control first
We park to protect the work area and keep warning lights running the whole time. Police and emergency crews direct the site where they are present.

A crash is bad enough without waiting on a truck that has to travel in from another town. At Clarence Valley Tow Trucks, accident towing in Maclean is covered by trucks already working the region rather than dispatched from somewhere else entirely. We recover the vehicle, clear what is left on the road and take it to the repairer, holding yard or address that suits your claim. Insurance details go down at the time and get passed on, so the tow is already accounted for by the time you speak to your insurer. Jobs that are not crash related fall under general towing, and smaller faults under roadside assistance.

Recovery work follows a fairly set pattern.

We park to protect the work area and keep warning lights running the whole time. Police and emergency crews direct the site where they are present.

Winches and skates move vehicles that will not roll, steer or start. Low and heavily damaged cars load at an angle that avoids further contact.

Glass and broken trim get swept and fluid gets soaked up before we pull out. The road should not be left worse than we found it.

The vehicle goes where you have nominated, not where it suits us. Tow details go to your insurer so the claim keeps moving.
There is a common assumption that an insurer picks the repairer and that is the end of it. Most policies allow you to nominate your own workshop, and a fair few people only find that out afterwards. When you call, tell us whether you have a repairer in mind, whether the claim is lodged and whether the insurer has named an assessment centre. If none of that is settled yet, we can move the vehicle somewhere secure and shift it again once you have made a decision, which is a far better outcome than leaving a damaged car on the roadside while the paperwork catches up.

Police attendance is required for injuries, serious damage or a vehicle blocking a road. Where they are attending, the vehicle stays put until they clear it for removal.
Yes. A winch line and recovery gear will bring a vehicle back onto the road from soft ground, embankments and table drains.
No inspection is needed before recovery, though the vehicle should not be started or driven if there is fuel leaking. An assessor examines the vehicle later, once it is at the repairer or assessment centre.
